Our 8th Graders are Movie Stars

Over 100 of our 8th Grade students attended a Junior Achievement conference. This conference was designed to reach young Hispanic students to help them dream big dreams, and realize the role of education in achieving their dreams.

Mrs. Zahn, our 8th grade Assistant Principal, gathered our students in The MC to show them the video Junior Achievement plans to show around the country. The pictures are of our students as they watched themselves and their friends.

We are hoping to get permission to show the video online. We will have a PodCast (the player is to the left) interview soon. For now, look at the pictures.

A.R. Test Lists Now Online

Accelerated Reader Lists

We are very happy to announce that we now have three different lists of our Accelerated Reader tests. Each list has the same information, but they are organized differently.

1. Alphabetical by the book title.
2. Alphabetical by the book author.
3. In order by book level.

WebSafari - Our Catalog is Online!

Students, Teachers, Parents, Anyone...you can now search our collections online from any computer. WebSafari is the same database we use in The MC, only it is now available to you online. Click the logo to visit the page.


Why is this a good thing?

STUDENTS

• You can find out if the book you want is on the shelf or when it is due back in.
• You can find out what is in the collection.
• You can save time by getting the Call Number before you come in.
• You can take your time to find other sources you might want to read.
• YOU CAN DO ALL THIS AT HOME.
  

TEACHERS

• You can discover some material you may not have known we have.
• You can create a list of items you need before you come in.
• You can effectively plan your units, with access to material titles in your classroom or home.

PARENTS

• You can help your child select books from home (recommend books you read as a student).
• You can know what materials are available.
• You can discover Accelerated Reader book titles.

We are really excited about this new feature. We will be adding some features to this service, like Recommendations (from teachers and students), Accelerated Reader tools, and more.
