Virus!!!

Yikes! The school system's network was hit with a terrible virus late Tuesday afternoon. The technicians are working very hard to isolate, contain, and defeat the virus. Mr. Beard (our tech specialist at DMS) has been identifying infected computers, and will be repairing them hopefully tomorrow and early next week.

All Windows 2000 computers will be updated to Windows XP during the repair process. Any personal files will need to be copied to another source (flash drive, T-Drive, etc.). Once teachers receive their computer back, they can retrieve their files as needed.

In the wake of the virus, The MC has been unable to check out books. We encourage students to return their books to avoid overdue fines, but in this down time, students will have to read the books from classroom libraries. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but we have no control over the situation at this point. We will keep you updated.

Kroger Letter - Earning plus Learning

DMS received over $900 for participation in the Kroger Earning plus Learning program. We have the letters for this year. If you have not supported DMS when you shop at Kroger, why not start this year? It's easy to start.

One time you have to present the letter (to associate your KrogerPlus Card with DMS) along with your KrogerPlus Card. Then, when you shop at Kroger, just give the cashier your KrogerPlus Card. That's it.

JUST FOR TEACHERS OF DMS
DMS teachers and staff can register for a $20 Kroger Shopping Card by using the Proof of Enrollment form. You can print the form here.
The drawing will be conducted on Friday, September 28, 2007.

We're BAAAACK...

Yeah! School is back in seesion. The MC is open for business. We started orientation for our 6th graders today. Mrs. Atwell's classes joined us, and it was great. A few things we discussed in the orientation:

1. Online Safari - The link is on the left
2. AR Test lists - Arranged by author, book level, and title.
